New study demonstrates endophytic fungi show promise for natural cosmetic pigments

Researchers examined the Amazonian plant H. investiens for its potential as a natural source of red coloring for cosmetic products and determined it is a 'compelling new source for extracellular pigment.' The study also noted fungi P. rubens 'produced an extracellular yellow color,' which is a new discovery.
